specialise in
outdoor drama and have been involved with the weekends
celebrating the life and work of J.R.R. Tolkien at Sarehole Mill,
in Hall Green, Birmingham, from their start.
Members perform dramatic excerpts from The Hobbit and The
Lord of the Rings at Sarehole Mill and Moseley Bog which are part of the Shire
Country Park. They also staged an adaptation of Tolkien's Farmer Giles of Ham for the
international gathering Tolkien 2005 at Aston University in Birmingham and The reduced
Beowulf in the Bog. Many current members were involved with an early
production of The Hobbit at Sarehole Mill in 1989, when the films were not even a twinkle
in anyone's eye!
The drama group appear at The Middle-earth Weekend alongside the
City Park Rangers, The Tolkien Society, craftspeople, poets, re-eanctors, entertainers and
local volunteer conservation groups, to provide this free community event.
This company work under the umbrella of
Music on Stage a local amateur dramatic society that incorporates,
Rat Productions and Mosqueetos, a youth theatre company.
